Teacher's Pet A-, B+

US/1957/B&W/Fullscreen 1.33:1/Mono/120 minutes/Directed by George Seaton/Starring Clark Gable, Doris Day, Gig Young/Paramount/No Chaps/2 discs/CLV/$39.95

This is a comfortably delightful vehicle for the talents of Gable and Day. Gable's cool and Day's ebullience mix a cocktail full of smiles in this comedy set around the rules of journalism. Gig Young slurs through his practiced and perfected picture of inebriation providing  moments of mirth.

The disc looks excellent. Detail is very sharp. Blacks are beautiful. There is no excess of grain. City room details have been lovingly transferred and the soundtrack is enjoyable
